Foreigner’s Medical Insurance & Employer’s liability for Domestic assistant or Worker Law 1989 (174/1989)

Both insurance policies are mandatory by Law. Healthcare provides coverage to foreign nationals (country of origin outside the European Union) who are attending, visiting or working in Cyprus in case of in-patient hospitalization (statutory coverage) including transfer of body of the deceased to their country or extra coverage for out-patient expenses e.g. visiting a doctor.

 

Employer Liability Insurance for domestic assistants or workers offers compensation in case of death or injury or occupational disease (Regulations 2010) up to the limits determined by the legislation.

 

for each accident or occupational disease for each employee the minimum coverage level is EUR 160,000.
 
for each incident or series of incidents originating from the same event, the minimum coverage level is EUR 3,415,000.
 
for each insurance period, the minimum coverage level is € 5,125,000.
